Healthy and fast meal – Baked chicken legs

Healthy and fast meal – Baked chicken legs

It’s been a while since I last posted a nice recipe here. Truth is, I missed doing it a lot. Spring astheny might have hit me too and even though I cooked different types of foods I just didn’t write about them for a while. I am back now with a few of my favorite types of food this spring. I hope you may enjoy the spicy chicken legs aswell. In my case, they are completely oil free so their calories are reduced. I chose to cook without oil whenever it is possible, since too oily food causes me nausea because of my “moody” gallbladder. You can also check THIS IDEA of how you can serve the Spicy chicken wings

Ingredients and seasoning used

3 medium-large chicken legs

Oregano

Pepper

Paprika

Rosemary

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Cooking process

This literally  took me 1 minute to prepare. It is a great and healthy meal idea for people who do not want to invest too much time in preparing their meals.

I just washed the chicken legs a bit before placing them into the cooking vessel. After that, I added all the condiments listed above over the meat.

(Nah, I did not add a ton of seasoning. Nah. Not at all.  Hahaha)

Don’t worry. After you mix it all up it looks better. I then mixed everything making sure the condiments are spread equally over the meat.

Finally, I added a few cups of water (enough to fill 1/4 of the cooking bowl).

Optional, you can add oil if you feel the need to, I generally try to cook without it when I can.

It’s done. Put it in the oven and let it cook for about 40 at 200 degrees Celsius. If you like your meat to be more crispy, you can cook it a bit more. Also, if you like your meat to be less cooked, keep the meat in the oven for about 30-35 minutes at the same temperature. It’s all up to everyone’s tastes. For me, 40 minutes were enough.

The result was extremely tasty

Bon apetit

In the end, just add your favorite salad or healthy garnish and there you have your healthy meal! Personally, I do not eat the skin on the chicken legs, but I know some people love it a lot, so again, it’s up to your tastes! <3  Check how you can combine your tasty chicken legs here

What you need to know

  • I am not a professional cook, nor a native english speaker, but I do my best to provide you with the most detailed recipes I can write. If you feel that something is missing, do not hesitate to contact me anytime. Feedback is the best. ♥
  • Every ingredient was scaled, scanned (if it was packed) and introduced into MFP (My Fitness Pal) to get an approximate number of calories (if the recipe mentions calories)
  • I use MFP as a refference for counting calories. It is an app that you can also download that help you count your calories.
  • The calorie numbers are approximate, based on MFP database at the time of use.
  • I use CICO (calorie in-calorie out) as a diet refference. My recipes are usually based on CICO (counting the calories) ( but I also keep track on the macros). It may not be good for everyone – some people simply lose weight with other methods. Everything is effective as long as it works for you.
  • We all have different food tastes. What is good for some people, may not fit for others. If you think this recipe may not be for you, it is totally fine ♥
